DESK for Bulo

Bulo challenged Van Duysen to scale down his architecture to a compact office system, consisting of various lacquered panels, covered with fabric, thus creating an intimate workspace. The design features details such as smooth Corian edges. Freestanding drawer units, sliding door cabinets and meeting tables complete the range. The soft colour palette refers to the office furniture of the seventies.
DESK can be set up as a one-person executive desk, a workstation for two or four persons or can be converted into work islands.

Mental work demands both concentration and interaction. DESK allows both, by offering a choice between low and high partitions. The panel consists of laminate to which felt is attached, covered with the Divina fabric by Kvadrat. The combination of felt and fabric offers high acoustic qualities, reducing contact and surround noise.
The panels are also pinable, adding to a personal office environment.

The smooth edges are realised in Corian. Corian is a both aesthetic and durable material, invented by DuPont 35 years ago. It combines superior design flexibility with durability, stain-resistance and renewability.

DESK is height adjustable according to the NEN-standard, no tools required. The free leg space respects the requirements of the NEN-standard 2449.

Two grommets in the desk top give access to the power socket and/or pen tray. Cables disappear in a cable net through the desk length opening between desk top and panel. The cable management to the floor is assured by a vertical cable duct.
The low panel desks are also avalaible with an integrated lamp.

Materials used for the top of the executive desk are wenge veneer and leather. The desk can be completed with an extra bookshelf based on a steel frame and 3 shelves in wenge veneer.

The sliding door cabinets can be single or double sided and are available in two different heights. The panels can be upholsterd with Divina fabric, improving the acoustic isolation. The identical height of the cabinets and desk panels create a both “calm” and architectural office environment. The storage element is mounted on the side panel, allowing a maximal leg space underneath.

CHAIR for Bulo

The new office chair is characterised by pure lines, a thin profile, remarkable ergonomic qualities and the use of innovative materials. The arm rests are made of Corian or veneer. The ceramic height adjustment knobs are pleasant to touch.
The colours of the upholstery, the frame and the side profile can be attuned, thus creating a monochromic or customised chair.
CHAIR is available as a task chair on a 5-star base on casters or as a visitor chair on a 4-star base on veneer glides. The frame is in stainless steel or lacquered.
The office chair is height adjustable and can be blocked in the first position. It has a tilt mechanism based on a torsion bar. The visitor chair has a fixed height.
