Destinations is a new collection of luxury fragrance candles. “Over the past 30 years, I have travelled a lot, discovering inspiring places. When visiting cities, I immerse myself in the architecture and culture and let myself be guided by the local smells and colors. With this scented candles collection, I have tried to capture my ‘souvenir smells’ from different cities. For the design of the candle holders, I took inspiration from old pharmaceutical bottles combined with a cork base,” explains Vincent Van Duysen.

At the bottom of the glass container is a subtle recess, which makes it perfectly fit on the cork base. This creates an elegant floating effect and a fascinating contrast between the different materials. The glass color was consciously chosen, always in relation to the city it represents: dark grey for Antwerp, Van Duysen’s home port, with its overcast grey skies; blue for Panarea, a small volcanic island that is part of the Aeolian archipelago, with its deep, intense blue; and amber for sophisticated Tanger, with its amber scents that permeate everywhere.

Each candle has its own specific fragrance, carefully composed by the master perfumers of Grasse, the capital of perfume. Antwerp has a rather fresh and spicy fragrance; Panarea is earthy and intriguing, and Tanger, finally, starts with a delicate bouquet of roses but has a warm, woody heart.

The Destinations candles don’t just serve as a decorative element in the home. When lit, their bouquets invite relaxation, re-energization and mindfulness. But even when they are not burning, they contribute to an atmosphere of peace and calm in space thanks to the timeless beauty of the form.
