Portofino for Paola Lenti
2014
The design of the Portofino collection is soft and refined, intended to evoke the mood of the picturesque harbour town of Portofino on the Italian Riviera. The first folding chair was initially conceived to find its place on yacht decks. It is therefore no surprise that this collection was first introduced on the RH3 expedition yacht, finished in 2015 (see page 171).
The current series of folding seats, inspired by the typical director’s chair, consists of a dining chair, deckchair, armchair and footstool, with a dining table added in 2016. The frames are made of solid locust wood. The covers of the chairs are removable and are available in several high-quality fabrics from Paola Lenti.
At the 2018 Salone del Mobile in Milan a new collaboration with Paola Lenti was launched with the presentation of the ‘Toku’ shading structure, a daybed combination made out of cedar heartwood and fabric panelling.
