Launch event in Paris
28 June 2024
On 26th June, at L’Appartement by Zara Home on 117 Rue du Bac, Paris, Vincent Van Duysen and the Spanish brand launched two exclusive limited-edition publications coinciding with a book signing meet&greet.
Designed by Beda Achermann, this special box set includes Vincent Van Duysen: Private released this year, featuring his two homes as captured by François Halard, and published by Rizzoli. Alongside the main volume, the bundle includes two new books: one showcasing Vincent Van Duysen’s own photography, marking the first time his photographic work is being published, and the other dedicated to his beloved dogs, with texts by Felix Burritcher.
In Van Duysen’s own words, “If I hadn’t become an architect, I would have become a photographer.” This sentiment reflects the essence of these special edition books, which offer a stunning collection of images taken by Van Duysen himself. These photographs provide a deeply personal and intimate glimpse into his world, including cherished shots of his dachshunds, which hold a special place in his heart.
“Selecting the images on the following pages, to choose among thousands of pictures I took over the years, was a moment to confront myself,” Van Duysen shares. “They reflect who I am as a person, as an architect, as an artist, and as a photographer. They also bring to life my personal memories from the past 20 years, my life as told through my travels, my friends, my encounters. Above all, they show that I am a very intuitive and visual person. To see them so beautifully laid out in a book is a dream come true."
These volumes not only offer a visual feast of Van Duysen’s extraordinary work but also provide a unique insight into the life and relationships that have shaped his creative journey.
The books are available for purchase on Zarahome.com and in selected stores worldwide. For more information, please also visit RizzoliUSA.com.
