Frost for Atelier Swarovski
2015
Cover story of the Spring/Summer Salt magazine is the Frost collection for Atelier Swarovski by Vincent Van Duysen – celebrating the 120th anniversary of Swarovski and the architect's first investigations into jewelry design.
Frost for Atelier Swarovski – a skin of crystals.
Frost was first exhibited as an light installation in 2010 at the Swarovski Crystal Palace – in this reinterpretation, Van Duysen – his first study into jewellery for Atelier Swarovski – shifts scale to examine the sensuality of crystals in their natural state and investigate an ‘architecture for the body’. The pieces wrap elegantly around the wrist and neck transforming into sculptural constellations. Like a morning dew, the assemblages are organic compositions balanced by a geometric sophistication.
