Wash for Obumex

1999

The simple, minimal ‘Wash’ sinks are a miniature transposition of the architecture of Van Duysen.

Orthogonal geometry reigns supreme in the definition of the volumes: the resulting objects conceal their function- revealed only by the tall faucet – while flaunting the geometric purity of their forms.

The washstands are in wood with steel basins, from which the faucet emerges, with the mixer control to one side. It is impossible to contaminate the nearby space with traditional accessories: the walls remain unencumbered, elegant, empty; the washstands contain an integrated storage which is accessible through a slit on the side.
