The collection Zara Home+ by Vincent Van Duysen introduces
a second chapter of the partnership, with a range dedicated to
the dining room launching 2 June. Zara Home, known for its
accessible and well-crafted furniture and accessories, started their
creative collaboration with Van Duysen in 2022. Born from the
desire to dive into his archives, the Belgian architect and designer
revisited some of his most iconic pieces and styles, while drawing
on his design ethos and DNA.
Building on the success of the living room collection launched last
year, the dining room range is an ode to conviviality, and to the
joy of living life with balance and at a gentler pace, all born of the
deepest mutual respect between the brand and the world-renowned
Flemish creative. Van Duysen has reworked materials and nuances
of items from his archive. The result is a dining room series made
with select woods and exquisite textures, with tactile materials
and finishes, rendered in timeless forms that speak to comfort and
simplicity.
Details include the iconic dining table, part of Vincent’s world from
the early beginning, in two different sizes and a further two round
dining tables with strong individual identities. The first one is a
passe-partout with trestle legs that can fit almost anywhere. For the
second Van Duysen has added more layers by including an exquisite
slate stone within a thermo wooden frame. With crossed legs and
a strong presence, this table is the highlight of any interior space.
The collection is extended beyond just the dining table to a wooden
cabinet which is an ode to conviviality. It can be placed in the
dining area or in the living room, to become part of daily family life.
The design is clean and straightforward but with beautiful detailing
across the hinges and on the legs. Designed to transition between
a cabinet and a beautiful sideboard and work uniformly with the
whole collection.
Embracing Zara Home’s commitment to quality and its broad
customer base around the world, Van Duysen again translates his
design DNA into a full program that celebrates his three-decade
long body of work. “This is a collection inspired by convivial
moments around a dining table, in the company of your loved ones,”
explains Van Duysen.
Continuing the philosophy that underpinned the inaugural
collection, all products have been designed to stand the test of
time and to be sympathetic to evolving décor types for years to
come. The approach is a clear antidote to a ‘one-time-use’ culture
with designs that are intended to be versatile, complementing
living environments rather than defining their style, while
projecting flexibility and a transversal approach. Dining room
pieces can be easily interchanged and swapped with their living
room counterparts. All items reflect the universe of Van Duysen’s
personal homes and his body of work.
“It feels like a home coming – the dimensions, sensorial aspects, the
look and feel all reflect my work,” explains the Belgian designer and
architect. “It’s my DNA merged with Zara Home.”
Zara Home+ by Vincent Van Duysen Collection 02 includes dining
tables, a sideboard, a cabinet, armchairs, a love seat, 1-, 2-, 3-seater
sofas, side tables, a console/desk, dining chairs, stools, carpets,
table lamps, glassware, tableware, flatware, vases, candles, and
home diffusers. Materials include solid oak and ash, campaspero
limestone, leather, linen, cotton, wool, and natural jute.
